The Clipper City Chordsmen are celebrating the success of one of their own.
Robert Brey was recently inducted into the Hall of Fame for the Land O’ Lakes District of the Barbershop Harmony Society during a ceremony at the District’s Fall Convention in Minneapolis.
According to Vice President of Publicity and Marketing Don Lewellen, Brey is one of only a handful of lakeshore area recipients to have received this honor.
Previous honorees include the famed International Champion Schmitt Brothers Quartet from Two Rivers, inducted in 1988, followed by local members David Olson and Bob Fricke selected in 2011 and 2013 respectively.
The Hall of Fame award gives recognition from the Land O’ lakes District to those who have made exceptional, long-standing, dedicated, and devoted contributions to the local chapter, and to their community.
Brey has been a member of the Clipper City Chords men and the Barbershop Harmony Society for 25 years and served as the District Secretary in recent years.
He remains active as the Chorus Manager for the Chordsmen and has sung in both the Lead and Bass Sections.
