Bail is set at $2000 recognizance for a 35-year-old Manitowoc man facing multiple charges in connection to a huffing incident Monday afternoon.
Nicholas S. Beaupre is charged with Theft-Shoplifting, Abuse of a Hazardous Substance, 2 counts of Felony Bail Jumping and one count of Misdemeanor Bail Jumping. Police were called to Meijer Department Store about 2:15 p.m. for a report of a male subject (Beaupre) huffing and falling down. Beaupre left before officers arrived and was spotted at several other businesses in the area with Rescue Personnel observing him huffing in the back of a store.
As officers approached Beaupre was described as being very unsteady on his feet with a can of Compressed gas in his left hand sucking on the can’s spout. He also had two Meijer plastic bags of groceries on his person including three cans of compressed cans of gas for which a receipt showed him paying for only two plus other household items. He was taken into custody without incident and booked into the County Jail once cleared by medical personnel at a local hospital.
Conditions of bail are that Beaupre has no contact with Meijer and report to MPD for photos and prints upon release. He remains in the County Jail on a Probation hold with his initial appearance scheduled for November 29th at 1:30.
