Manitowoc Public Utilities is sponsoring two Holiday Lighting Exchanges later this week and again in early December.
The exchanges are set for Thursday, November 18th and Thursday, December 2nd from 9 am to 4 pm at its office at 1303 S. 8th Street in Manitowoc.
MPU customers are invited to bring in old incandescent Christmas string lights and turn them in for free LED string lights, with a limit of three per household. Also, drop off old inefficient screw-in lightbulbs and compact fluorescent lightbulbs for MPU to properly dispose and recycle them.
Utility officials will also be available to discuss energy efficiency and the safe operation of winter appliances, such as space heaters and electric blankets.
