A Deputy with the Outagamie County Sheriff’s Department is continuing his battle with COVID-19 at an out-of-state hospital.
Deputy Channing Pompa first contracted the virus on September 26th and had spent some time on a ventilator at an area hospital.
He then began suffering complications of severe COVID pneumonia and was transferred out of state.
Pompa is currently on advanced life support, according to a GoFundMe page created by his family to help cover medical expenses, and is sedated.
Samantha Hoffer, who is operating the GoFundMe page, said in an update yesterday (November 16th) that Pompa “has a very long road ahead of him yet with an undetermined outcome still. But we pray every single day for recovery soon and that he will come home to us.”
