Harbor Freight Tools, America’s go-to source for affordable tools, has announced they’ve signed a deal to open a new location at 3415 Calumet Avenue, in the former Shopko store in Manitowoc. A family-owned company, Harbor Freight Tools began when 17-Year-old Eric Smith began transforming his father’s small phone sales business into a successful mail order company that today has over 1,200 stores that employees 24,000 associates and serves more than 40 million customers nationwide. Senior Vice President of Real Estate and Construction Trey Feller states in a news Release “We’ve been looking to open a location in Manitowoc for a number of years so that we can provide the tools and equipment at tremendous values to the community. In addition to a great location, we were attracted by the availability of Great associates in the Manitowoc area and we look forward to having them join The Harbor freight team.” Construction is well underway using local workers and companies from the Manitowoc area with plans to open sometime this winter.
