Bail was set at $1500 recognizance for a 37-year-old Manitowoc man taken into custody Tuesday on Domestic Abuse charges after being out on bail for unrelated charges in Manitowoc and Brown Counties this spring.
Marcus A. Smith is facing charges of Battery with a Domestic Violence Enhancer and one count each of Felony and Misdemeanor Bail Jumping. Officers from The Manitowoc Police Department spoke to the female victim at her southside residence where she informed them that an argument between her and Smith on Monday escalated to where he allegedly shoved her into a closet causing her pain.
Despite denying the allegations, Smith was taken into custody. Court records indicate that he was out on bail on Brown County charges of Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and Carrying a Concealed weapon and a Battery of Prisoners charge in Manitowoc County.
Conditions of Bail on Smith’s latest matter are that he has no assaultive contact with the victim and his initial appearance is scheduled for December 20th at 1:30.
