David M. Stecker, age 72 of Newton, passed away on Friday evening, December 3, 2021 at Holy Family Memorial Medical Center.
David was born on February 7, 1949 in Manitowoc, son of the late Earl G. and Joanne M. (Johnston) Stecker. He was a 1967 graduate of Valders High School. David was a United States Army veteran serving from December 23, 1968 through July 28, 1971. On September 9, 1972 David was married to the former Dianne J. Tech at Bethany Ev. Lutheran Church in Manitowoc. He retired from Anheuser-Busch Malting Plant in Manitowoc. David loved being an entrepreneur. David started 2 different businesses which included Newton Valley Water Co. and Elite Concrete Polishing. He also enjoyed as a hobby woodworking and wood turning. He was a member of Bethany Ev. Lutheran Church where he ushered and served on various committees and boards.
He is survived by his wife: Dianne J. Stecker, Newton; his four children and their spouses: Angela (Shawn) Zucchi, Reedsville, Jason Stecker, Jonathen (Tiffany) Stecker, Aaron (Carrie) Stecker, all of Manitowoc; seven grandchildren: Branden Zucchi, Morgan Zucchi, Bryce Stecker, Coy Stecker, Madison Stecker, Lorin Stecker, Jacob Stecker; two step-grandchildren: Ashley Tackett, Arianna Wolske; five step great-grandchildren: Pierce, Koy, Inara, Thaya, Lamarr; two brothers and sisters-in-law: Gerald (Donna) Stecker, Charles (Cheryl) Stecker, all of Manitowoc; one sister and brother-in-law: Caroll (Donald) Hoffmann, Manitowoc; three brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Kathy (Tom) Brown, Lynn (Roger) Patton, Jeffrey (Cynthia) Tech, all of Manitowoc, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive. David will also be missed by his furry companion “Pepper”. He was preceded in death by his parents: Earl and Joanne Stecker; father-in-law and mother-in-law: William and Shari Tech; one brother-in-law: Jerome Radl; two nephews: Benjamin Thom, Andrew Peltier.
Funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, December 10, 2021 at Bethany Ev. Lutheran Church, 3209 Meadow Lane, Manitowoc. The Rev.’s Robert Kujawski and Stephen Melso will officiate with burial to follow at Knollwood Memorial Gardens. Military Honors will be accorded by the Vietnam Veterans Chapter #731 of Manitowoc. Relatives and friends may call at the church on Friday from 9:00 AM until the time of service at 11:00 AM. In lieu of flowers memorial donations can be made to Bethany Ev.
