A one-story home with a walkout basement sustained major damage early Monday following a fire in the Manitowoc County Town of Gibson.
Mishicot Fire Chief Mike Koeppel said residents of the structure and their pets managed to safely evacuate before firefighters arrived about 1:45 AM.
The single-story residence is unlivable at this point as major fire and smoke from the blaze caused in excess of $100,000 in damage.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
Koeppel tells Seehafer News that ten other agencies assisted Mishicot personnel at the scene, about a mile and a half south of Larabee.
Firefighters were at the fire for five hours until 6:30 AM Monday.
No other information is being released at this time.
