A Special Education teacher at Manitowoc Lincoln High School was attacked by a student last week.
Seehafer News was first made aware of the situation thanks to a citizen report, so we reached out to Manitowoc Public School District Superintendent Mark Holzman to confirm or deny the report.
We were given a copy of a letter sent to families of students at the school, written by Principal Lee Thennes.
He informed the families of an “incident” that required the school to enter a “HOLD”.
The details of the incident were not included in that letter.
We also reached out to the Manitowoc Police Department for a copy of the police report and were told that one would not be issued to us until the suspect was in court for their initial appearance on December 20th.
The citizen who informed us of the situation, who claims to be a close friend of the victim, sent an email to members of the school board describing the attack in explicit detail.
Since this is not a report from an official source, we will not be including that information in our report.
The issue of student behavior was addressed at the School District Board of Education meeting last night (December 16th), and we will have a report on that later this week.
