Some promotions will be happening soon at the Manitowoc Police Department. Chief Nick Reimer explains that dayshift Patrol Captain Corey Pusel will be promoted to Deputy Chief, effective January 7th.
It follows the departure of Assistant Chief Rob Barbier, who is retiring after 30-years of dedicated service.
Pusel is a native of Necedah, Wisconsin, and graduated from UW-Platteville.
“In 2004 I was hired at the Manitowoc Police Department. 2012, I was promoted to lieutenant of third shift, a promotion to captain of third shift followed in 2017, and a few years ago moved to captain of day shift. Now, I am looking forward to new challenges in the new position.”
Reimer said Barbier has had quite a career in law enforcement at the MPD.
“It truly has. An excellent career, training lieutenant for many years.”
As part of the changes in administration, Jason Freiboth will be promoted from deputy chief to assistant chief next month.
