An officer with the New Holstein Police Department has lost his battle with bone cancer.
Officer Macullen Schnell passed away with family by his side Saturday evening into Sunday morning.
Schnell had been with the department for about a year and a half before he was diagnosed with the disease but was recently featured on the Department’s Facebook page as he participated in the Shop with a Cop event.
In that post, Schnell stated, “I am extremely thankful for all the support from my co-workers, the City of New Holstein, and all of you, the community members.”
Police Chief Eric Fisher stated in a Facebook post, “Macullen will never be forgotten as he will always be a member of our family. We extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and anyone who ever had the privilege of meeting this great young man.”
