The Two Rivers Police Department has welcomed in their first K9 Officer.
K9 Xanti is partnered with Officer Lade and will officially be sworn in during the City Council meeting in February after he completes the remainder of his training.
K9 Xanti is the first member of the newly formed K9 Division at the Police Department, which came to be thanks to a donation from the late Jim Taddy.
The former City Council member set aside $74,000 for the Two Rivers Fire and Police Departments, which led to the creation of the K9 program.
In a post on Facebook, the Police Department thanked everyone who helped them to reach this goal and supported the program.
They also said, “We hope that Officer Xanti will be a great asset to our community for many years.”
