It’s not just men sitting there, holding their poles waiting for a bite. Not even close. A group that started forming 15 years ago has evolved into a fishing club with more than 450 members.
The Wisconsin Women Fish club reports it has members from 20 states and two Canadian provinces. About 40 of those members are on the Bay of Green Bay this week ice fishing for perch. A spokesperson says the club’s calendar is full of events year-round with activities all over the Midwest and Canada.
This week there are classes and workshops for the members who range in age from 18 to 86.
