The Executive Director of Progress Lakeshore called 2021 a great year, even though they’ve had to deal with pandemic issues.
Jamie Zastrow added it’s been an interesting 12 months, obviously, as we like to think we’re coming out of covid.
Zastrow explained it really changes the economy and some of the conversations, “But still a lot of things [are] going on. People are busy, businesses are really busy. Of course, the workforce shortage is a hot topic, trying to get more workers into the workforce and into the area. “
Which, she says, is a problem everywhere, not just Manitowoc County.
Zastrow spoke about the range of services Progress Lakeshore has for area business and industry.
“Entrepreneurs that are looking to start a business…we try to connect them to resources that they need to get that business started,” she told Seehafer News. “You have existing businesses that want to expand and grow. There too, we are working with them. What do they need? And then of course there are businesses looking to locate here. Sometimes they are looking at the whole region, sometimes they have narrowed it down to Manitowoc County already.”
Zastrow called Progress Lakeshore a “private, one-stop shop that businesses can come to for such information as demographic and workforce data, schools and training.”
