A 27-year-old Manitowoc man was taken into custody following a family trouble call at a southside residence last night.
Officers were dispatched to a home in the 2600 block of South 21st where the suspect’s mother stated that her son, who lived there off and on, had asked her if he could borrow money, which she denied.
An argument ensued and she said her son flipped over and shattered a glass coffee table, forcefully pushing and threatening her.
As he ran out the rear patio door, the male suspect had allegedly stated “I’m gonna hurt you and make your life miserable.”
Officers later located him at the intersection of South 23rd and Dewey Streets where he denied any altercation took place, saying he was at a friend’s house at the time.
The victim later stated in a phone call with police that she had feared for her safety because her son was yelling and being sporadic with his actions, showing no self-control.
It was discovered that the suspect had open felony conditions prohibiting him from making contact with his mother and he was taken into custody.
Recommended charges include Criminal Damage to Property, Disorderly Conduct-Domestic Violence Offense, Habitual Criminality, and four Counts of Felony Bail Jumping.
