The City of Manitowoc will be performing ecological restoration within portions of lower Henry Schuette Park starting this month.
The City, along with Lakeshore Natural Resource Partnership, Friends of Manitowoc River Watershed, and Stantec Consulting Services, Inc., will be closing off sections of the park in mid-January, and work will continue through mid-February.
Work will include mechanical removal of dense invasive species along with hand removal in more ecologically sensitive areas.
The park will remain open for recreational use throughout the project, however, all park users must be aware of and avoid all construction areas.
