Organizers are expecting big crowds for this weekend’s 59th annual World Championship Snowmobile Derby.
The event in Eagle River kicks off today (January 13th).
In some corners, it is known as the “Indianapolis 500 of snowmobile racing.”
More than 40,000 onlookers are expected to attend.
Races from Japan, Europe, Canada and all across the U-S will participate.
Drivers push their machines to speeds of more than 100 miles an hour at the all-ice oval track in the World Championship Derby Complex in northern Wisconsin.
