A Manitowoc mother and daughter, formally charged with child neglect-consequence is great bodily harm, made initial appearances this afternoon in Manitowoc County Circuit Court.
Charges were officially read against 23-year-old Samantha Jordan and her mother, 53-year-old Kristine Jordan. Samantha’s infant child was born last month with both testing positive for cocaine and the child’s mother admitting to doing “a line or two” a week before its birth.
The child was originally taken to Aurora Medical Center in Two Rivers then Children’s Hospital in Milwaukee after doctors determined the infant had suffered multiple strokes and her kidneys weren’t functioning properly.
Both defendants remain in The County Jail on $25,000 cash bail each and are scheduled for preliminary hearings on February 2nd at 1:30 PM.
