The outdoor bar and music venue overlooking Lake Michigan has been honored by the Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC) of Wisconsin.
The Wharf, located at 606 Quay Street in Manitowoc was given the Gold Award for ABC’s Projects of Distinction honors.
The Wharf’s permanent structure was built after the temporary bar was built using storage containers.
Keller Inc. was contracted to build the state-of-the-art structure and its retractable roof.
They had to combat the poor soil conditions near the Manitowoc River, so they had to create more than 40 helical piers 60 feet below the existing grade.
ABC also praised the interior design of The Wharf, noting their nautical theme and “crisp, clean, timeless” modern aesthetic.
Other area projects to earn the honor were A.C.E. Building Services’ work at PetSkull Brewing and the Lighthouse Pavilion, The Crescent Lofts in Appleton, and the Sheboygan Falls School Rehab & Townhomes.
