The US Attorney’s Office, FBI, and Brown County Sheriff’s Office are looking to meet with the victims of a fraud case stemming from a De Pere contractor.
Four individuals were arrested earlier this week after it was learned that Summit Contracting Inc had defrauded their customers to the tune of $1.5 million.
38-year-old Chad Schampers, 36-year-old Gina Schampers, 39-year-old Nathaniel Smith, and 33-year-old Jeffery O’Brien would reportedly convince customers to apply for a high-interest financing plan based on false information.
They would then sign forms saying that work had already been completed and would withdraw funds from customers’ accounts before doing any work.
In some cases, the supplies hadn’t even been ordered.
The three law enforcement entities will meet with the victims of the scam next week Wednesday (February 9th) at 5:30 PM in the Brown County Sheriff’s Office on Development Drive in Bellevue.
These conversations will help them figure out the best course of action moving forward.
