United Way Manitowoc County is promoting and encouraging those interested in helping support vetted, nonpartisan organizations on the ground, that are providing vital help to those who need it most during the ongoing Ukrainian conflict.
More than 1 million have already fled since the Russian invasion with that amount expected to rise to 4 million before the conflicts ends. The United For Ukraine Fund’s mission is to mobilized the caring power of communities for the common good to meet the demand to this urgent and growing humanitarian crisis.
Ukrainian refugees are fleeing to neighboring countries of Poland, Romania and Hungary to escape the violence. Immediate support will cover transportation, shelter, food and medicines, critical childcare supplies including infant formulas and diapers, and hygiene kits plus so much more.
Partners on the ground, United Way Romania, United Way Hungary and FDI Poland are on the ground continually assessing immediate and longer-term relief needed for those made vulnerable by the fighting. You may donate securely at secure.unitedway.org/a/united for Ukraine.
