As the Russian invasion of Ukraine continues and the United States’ involvement in the region continues to develop, there is a global magnifying glass on how western nations will respond to the conflict.
The Manitowoc Public Library is hosting its eight-week lecture series, Great Decisions, which is now into its 15th season. During the series, scholars speak about issues with participants exploring their own views as well as those of the group.
“Russia and the U.S.” will be the title of tonight’s lecture, as Marquette University’s Lowell Barrington, PhD will explore the areas in which Russia and the United States have conflict, as well as where they have mutual interest.
Topics are expected to include Ukraine, Russian influence in American elections, cyberattacks, the fate of opposition politicians in Russia and the American response to all of these issues.
The lecture will take place from 6:00 p.m until 8:00 p.m.
To attend in person, registration is required, but the lecture will also be live-streamed online at Facebook.com/ManitowocLibrary.
