Manitowoc County Health Officer Stephanie Lambert says “we continue to be in a good place in terms of the pandemic.”
Lambert spoke to Seehafer News, saying, “The current 7-day average has dropped to only 3 cases per day, a 63 percent decrease from last week. COVID 19 hospitalizations have continued to decline with a 7-day average of 49 patients in the Northeast region [of Wisconsin].”
Since the beginning of the pandemic in March of 2020, 20,134 cases have been confirmed with 183 deaths.
Despite the downward trend of cases, it’s recommended that you, if you haven’t already, get vaccinated and practice good hygiene habits to minimize the risk of catching the virus.
Lambert adds, “The Health Department will continue to work hard to protect the health of our community. Our staff remains available to answer any questions or address any concerns you may have.”
