The Brillion Lion’s dream season came to a disappointing end yesterday in Madison.
The Lion’s faced West Salem in the Division 3 semifinals and fell to the Panthers 71-61.
As they had done throughout the postseason, Brillion started slow but was able to get back to within 2 midway through the first half.
Then West Salem proved why they earned the #1 seed and went on a 7-0 run to end the half and never looked back.
The Panthers dominated the glass, outrebounding Brillion 48-25.
Jeremy Lorenz led the Lions with 22 points, while Mason Benke added 11.
Carson Koepnick of West Salem led all scorers with 26 and was aided by Brett Mcconkey’s 14.
The Lion’s season ends one game shy of the championship game with a record of 27-3.
