A man from northeastern Wisconsin has made a federal court appearance in Washington to face charges from the January 6th, 2021 U.S. Capitol riot.
Riley Kasper of Pulaski is accused of assaulting a law enforcement officer.
Federal prosecutors point to Kasper’s social media posts about allegedly forming his “own little militia” and saying they “took over Congress.”
One video shows a person identified as Kasper spraying an aerosol canister of what is believed to be pepper spray toward an officer.
He is scheduled to return to court in May for a preliminary hearing.
