Manitowoc Public Utilities issued a Monday release to remind customers who are behind on their utility bills that the moratorium for disconnection of residential service ends on Friday, April 15th.
Residential customers who have not paid during the winter could also be required to pay a security deposit equal to their highest four consecutive bills to avoid disconnection.
Disconnection notices are printed directly on their billing statements.
MPU also reminds customers to watch for potential scams, where you are coerced to make an immediate payment using a prepaid card, emphasizing that the utility would never solicit payment in that manner.
For any questions, such as checking on eligibility for a payment arrangement, users are advised to call (920) 683-4660 between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 4:30 p.m.
