The 2022 Wisconsin Lakes and Rivers convention will be held from Wednesday, April 6 until Saturday, April 8. The event can be attended in person in Stevens Point, but there is also the option to attend virtually.
The Department of Natural Resources is inviting the public to attend the event as part of Wisconsin Water Week, which Gov. Tony Evers declared from April 4 through April 10.
Wisconsin water week aims to showcase the value of clean water for all Wisconsin residents and to acknowledge the state’s efforts to protect its recreational waters, invest in conservation and ensure clean, usable water.
The Lakes and Rivers convention will feature speakers, hands-on workshops and presentations centered around the theme of protecting Wisconsin’s water resources.
Those who attend in person will be required to wear face coverings. The indoor event will be held for all three days, while virtual attendance is only available on Thursday and Friday.
In-person attendees on Wednesday will experience the option of $40 half-day workshops or $80 full-day workshops, plus a $15 lunch. Thursday’s main session featuring a keynote speaker, over 35 sessions plus lunch will cost $125. A stewardship banquet and awards ceremony will cost $30. Friday will feature a keynote speaker, another batch of sessions plus lunch for $100.
For those attending virtually, the schedule and costs are a bit different. Thursday will feature eight sessions, lightning talks as well as a keynote speaker for $50. Friday will feature eight sessions including a keynote speaker, also at $50.
