Over 100 firefighters will take thousands of steps in their 50-pound gear in the American Lung Association in Wisconsin’s Anthem Firefighter Challenge at the Fight For Air Climb at American Family Field on April 9th.
The Milwaukee Fight For Air Climb, presented by Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield in Wisconsin, attracts hundreds of climbers from across Wisconsin who support efforts to help end lung disease.
The mission of the Lung Association directly impacts firefighters since respiratory diseases remain a significant health issue for firefighters and emergency responders.
Firefighters are at a higher risk to develop chronic issues, including lingering cough, hoarseness, asthma, allergies, and in more extreme cases, may be diagnosed with lung or bronchial cancer.
