The third annual Throw With All Your Heart fundraiser will be held this Saturday from 12:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. at Tapped on the Lakeshore in Two Rivers. All money received goes to benefit Ascend Services.
Included in the event will be a team throwing Olympics, celebrity axe throwers as well as a variety of other games, activities, raffles and prizes. The throwing Olympics will host ten teams of four people each as they compete in axe throwing, cornhole, arts, shuffleboard and hammerschlagen.
Deanna Genske of Ascend Services spoke to Seehafer News on Monday to elaborate on the celebrity involvement where folks can show up to face off against a local celebrity for $5 at a time.
“You spend your $5 and you get three throws against the celebrity that you want to throw against. If you want to be there all day and throw against every celebrity, I would say that I challenge you. That would be awesome.”
She added that Throw With All Your Heart was inspired by the heart featured in their logo, a symbol meant to showcase that all people are more alike than they are different.
Genske says there are plenty of opportunities to share in the fun.
“We’re trying to tell people, like, hey, this is a fun event. Whether you’ve registered to be on a team or whether you just want to come to watch or if you want to throw against a celebrity and hang out. It’s just a fun day!”
