A Midwest hospitality investment and management company is proposing a new hotel for a nearly 6-acre plot of land near I-43 and Highway 151 in Manitowoc.
Owner/CEO Rachit Dhingra of Odyssey Hotels Group based in Chicago told Seehafer News Wednesday they recently purchased the property adjacent to the AMC Classic Theater.
Dhingra explained that plans would be to construct a 4-story, 80-room Hampton Inn by Hilton on the property, potentially by next year.
He indicated there could be a second, unnamed hotel developed on the 5.8-acre parcel at a future date.
He said they’d also like to partner with a restaurant to locate on that land as well.
The owner/CEO said they have a portfolio of hotels in the Midwest.
We’ve been told that the city of Manitowoc has already approved a zoning change related to building height on the property to clear the path for a potential project.
