Back in the year 2020, UW Green Bay and Manitowoc Lincoln High School announced a new partnership known as Rising Phoenix.
This program offers students the opportunity to get a head start on earning college credits through dual enrollment while still in high school.
The first class of participants are now, two years later, nearing graduation from UWGB.
Of the current 23 students from the cohort, 19 are on track to earn the Associate of Arts and Sciences degree and at least seven are planning to continue with their bachelor’s degree at UW-Green Bay.
A graduation ceremony will be held for these students on Friday, May 13th, starting at 5:00 p.m. at UW Green Bay Manitowoc Campus.
Since the program’s inception, Rising Phoenix has expanded into Two Rivers, Mishicot, and Marinette High Schools, and a state-wide cohort was created through Wisconsin’s GEAR UP program.
