A 30-year-old Manitowoc man is free on $250 cash bail after being arrested on his 4th OWI charge earlier this week.
A witness told Manitowoc Police that they saw a driver, later identified as James M. Love-Gove driving on the sidewalk at the intersection of South 18th and Dewey Streets at about 8:15 p.m. Monday.
Officers had located a bottle of vodka on his front seat and also noticed a strong smell of marijuana coming from the vehicle.
Love-Gove admitted to officers that he had a “few drinks” and smoked marijuana. He was taken into custody after being administered and failing a field sobriety test and a legal blood draw.
The conditions of his bail include that Love-Gove does not operate a motor vehicle without a valid driver’s license and to maintain absolute sobriety from drugs and alcohol.
His initial appearance is scheduled for May 9th at 1:30 p.m.
