We were contacted by a letter carrier who explained that Manitowoc and Two Rivers will not be participating.
***ORIGINAL STORY***
For the 30th time, the National Association of Letter Carriers will look to “Stamp Out Hunger“ this weekend.
The one-day food drive is scheduled for Saturday, May 14th, and is the country’s largest one-day food drive.
This year’s drive is a return to normal, as this version of the event has been absent for the past two years.
Residents simply need to leave their donation of non-perishable food items, such as canned soup, vegetables, meats, and fish, along with pasta, rice, or cereal, in a sturdy bag next to their mailbox before mail delivery on Saturday.
City and rural letter carriers will collect these items, which then will be distributed to churches, food banks and pantries, and shelters in the community.
