Bail was set at $50,000 cash this afternoon for a 36-year-old Manitowoc man who’s accused of stabbing his cousin early Wednesday morning.
Charges recommended to be filed against Ryan A. King include Attempted First-Degree Homicides and Two Counts of False Imprisonment.
Officers were called to a residence on South 20th Street just after midnight where King’s aunt told them that he had stabbed her son, identified as 36-year-old Nicholas Beaupre of Manitowoc.
In a probable cause report, police were told by Beaupre that King, his cousin, began talking about Satan and began stabbing him.
King said that he was upset Beaupre had insulted him, but denied stabbing him.
The victim was taken to the hospital for treatment of unspecified injuries and there’s no word on Beaupre’s condition or if he’s still in the hospital.
Conditions of bail include that King is not to possess “any weapons”, have “no contact” with the victims and maintain” absolute sobriety.”
He remains in the County Jail with an initial appearance scheduled for May 31st at 2:30.
