Clergy members in Texas organized a national vigil yesterday to remember the 21 people (19 children and 2 adults) who died in the mass shooting at Robb Elementary School in Uvalde Texas.
Pastor Matt Sauer of First Presbyterian Church in Manitowoc , was one of many to participate telling Seehafer News “A call went out from some of the clergy in Texas that if on Thursday at noon if churches were abler to, to ring their bell. I just issued that here and we’re going to do that.”
Sauer says yesterday’s ceremony goes beyond just the tragedy that occurred in Texas adding this. “Action is necessary but we also need to weep. We also need to hold that together and so that what this call is with the bell is really just a call to remember. We need to remember them and hear that as a call to action.”
In addition, compound mass shootings have occurred this month at a grocery store in Buffalo New York where 10 people died, while five more lost their lives in a shooting at a church in Laguna Beach California.
