We began tracking gas prices one year ago, and the changes we have seen in that time are staggering.
The average price per gallon of fuel in the seven counties surrounding Manitowoc County at the start of June 2021 was $2.86.
According to the AAA Gas Prices webpage, as of this morning, that average is now at $4.33, which is a jump of $1.47.
Manitowoc County reported a four-cent jump from last week to $4.27, while Sheboygan County saw a three-cent increase to $4.33.
Calumet County motorists are paying seven cents more at the pump, now averaging $4.25 per gallon, while Outagamie County fuel is up six cents to $4.20.
Brown County saw the biggest jump, up 12 cents to $4.36. while gas in Kewaunee County is 8 cents more expensive compared to last week, where the average is now at $4.39.
Door County continues to be the most expensive county to buy fuel in the area, as they reported a 10-cent jump to $4.50.
The state average also jumped a whopping 12 cents to $4.44, while the national average is up only two cents to $4.62.
