The Sheboygan County Economic Development Corporation will be getting a share of $125 million from the Public Service Commission of Wisconsin to help expand broadband internet access in the County.
Broadband Expansion Grants help local organizations with construction projects for internet service in areas of the state that are challenging to connect due to population density or geography.
In total, the SCEDC will be getting $1,364,000 for their project, which will utilize a Fiber-to-the-Premise service to reach 25 businesses and 1,221 residential locations along Highway 57.
These homes stretch from the Village of Random Lake to the Town of Rhine, and the SCEDC will be matching the funds given to them by the PSC.
