Many feel it’s an honor long overdue. Former Packers head coach Mike Holmgren has been named a semi-finalist for the Pro Football Hall of Fame class of 2023.
Holmgren has been retired from pro football for 10 years.
He started his NFL career in 1986 as the quarterbacks coach of the San Francisco 49ers.
He then coached the Packers for seven seasons between 1992 and 1998, leading the team to a Super Bowl win in 1997.
The Packers made the playoffs six times while he was coaching and went to two Super Bowls.
He also coached the Seattle Seahawks – reaching another Super Bowl in 2005.
Holmgren had a career win-loss record of 174-122
