Manitowoc’s American Legion baseball team won the championship game of the Marinette Regional last night, squeaking out a 4-3 over Marinette.
Ashton Portmann of Manitowoc Lincoln was the winning pitcher with a complete game effort.
Dan Schmitz of Kiel led off the game with a solo home run and Post 88 never trailed in the game.
Additional runs scored on an RBI single by August Hecker of Manitowoc Lutheran and a two-run homer by Ridge Guyette from Hilbert.
Manitowoc is now 22-4 on the season and will play its next game at Sheboygan on Tuesday.
The opponent has not been determined yet.
