In semi-pro football today the Manitowoc County Mariners can secure a home playoff game with a victory at Ron Rubick Municipal Field this evening (July 23rd).
The 7-and-2 record Mariners of Head Coach Brent Luebke host the Wisconsin Ravens in a 7:00 o’clock kickoff Saturday night.
It’s also an opportunity for the Mariners to avenge an earlier season 24-12 loss to the Ravens.
Defensive Coordinator Rick Roulette’s defense has been exceptional at not only creating turnovers, but also scoring off their opponent’s mistakes.
In fact, team president Marcos Alfaro Senior, said the Mariner’s defense this season has scored the most points in the team’s 13-year history.
A reminder that the gates tomorrow night at Rubick Field will open at 5:30 p.m. and the admission fee is $8.00.
However, military veterans and kids ages 10 and under will be admitted free to the football game.
Also, concessions will be sold to benefit the Manitowoc Lincoln Ships Football program.
