Seehafer News has been sent a video of the police officer-involved shooting in Appleton.
As a warning, the following description contains graphic details of the video.
The video starts with a man standing in a driveway, near the road.
He is only wearing shorts and is holding a handgun.
He appears to be struggling mentally or emotionally as he is shaking his head and rocking back and forth.
The man then points the handgun at his head, around the temple area.
At that point, he leans over and puts his other hand on his knees.
He quickly stands up and removes the gun from his head.
He appears to be talking to either himself or the on-site police officers. It is not clear because what is being said cannot be heard.
The man then turns, and puts his hands over his face, before again putting the gun to his head.
The man begins walking away from the officers, with the gun still pressed against his temple, which is when the first shot was fired.
Five total shots were fired, with at least one appearing to strike the man in the leg, and at least one striking him in what appears to be the right arm.
The man guided himself to the ground while dropping the gun, where he remained, unaided by police, for the remainder of the video.
Blood is seen coming from what appears to be his left pectoral area, but it is difficult to tell for sure.
A separate video shows four police officers and one EMS worker near the man, with two of them turning him onto his stomach, and handcuffing his wrists behind his back.
The man’s left arm appears to be covered in blood.
The Wisconsin Department of Justice is still investigating the incident while the officers involved are on administrative leave as per department policy.
