More text messages between Brett Favre and former Mississippi Governor Phil Bryant are included in court documents filed late last week by Bryant’s lawyers.
The Hall of Fame quarterback got the state of Mississippi to spend millions of dollars in welfare money on a volleyball arena where his daughter was playing.
The messages show that Favre tried two years later to get more money for an indoor football practice facility at his alma mater – the University of Southern Mississippi.
It’s that state’s biggest-ever public corruption case.
A civil lawsuit has been filed against Favre and Bryant, but neither man has been charged criminally.
