A 5-1 win over the St. Louis Cardinals Wednesday night moves the Brewers to within a half-game of the final National League Wild Card spot.
Brandon Woodruff fanned 10 batters while blanking the Cardinals over the first six innings.
Jose Quintana took the loss even though Brewers batters – again – weren’t able to do too much with the lefty.
A two-run double by catcher Victor Caratini was the big offensive blow for Milwaukee.
There are just seven games left in the regular season and the Brewers have to finish a game ahead of the Phillies to make the playoffs.
