Two lawsuits have been filed in Dane County Court to let election clerks fix mistakes on absentee ballot envelopes.
The suits follow a ruling by a Waukesha County judge last month that disallowed fixing that information.
The first lawsuit asks the court to rule on what a complete address is for the purposes of a ballot envelope.
The second suit alleges the Waukesha County ruling violates both the Civil Rights Act’s voting requirements and violates voters’ due process for threatening to reject ballots without notice.
