Two Illinois residents appeared recently in Manitowoc County Circuit Court for Bail hearings after allegedly attempting to steal from The Manitowoc Walmart late last week.
Mahmoud W. Alrub and Alah H, Deeb, both 25 years of age, are charged with retail theft of between $500 and $5,000 and Alrub is also charged with Possession of Marijuana and of a Schedule I or II Drug.
The two suspects were seen putting items into their cart, then on camera failing to check out items at the self-checkouts, moving them past all points of sale,
The retail value of the stolen items was said to be approximately $652. Upon arrival, a Manitowoc Police Officer witnessed a Sheriff’s Deputy chasing one of the suspects, who was apprehended at gunpoint.
Alrub was found to be in possession of a knife and an officer was able to locate marijuana and 13.5 grams of fentanyl inside their car.
Alub had bail set at $500 cash with the lone condition being that he maintain “absolute sobriety”
He remains in The Manitowoc County Jail, while Deeb had bail set at $100 cash posted with no conditions.
Both defendants are due back in court for initial appearances set for October 10th at 1:30.
