The governor’s call for another special session is another non-starter, leading him to say Wisconsin lawmakers are “not doing their job.”
Governor Tony Evers called the special session for action on a resolution that would address the 1849 law criminalizing abortions in the state.
Evers wants a direct referendum.
He slammed Republicans in the Legislature at a campaign rally later in the day, Tuesday.
Just like several times in the past, the special session was gaveled in, then gaveled out seconds later.
Republicans say it was just an election-year stunt by the Democratic governor.
