Tis the season that leaves are falling off the trees and being collected by Manitowoc’s Department of Public Works.
Mayor Justin Nickels says the annual leaf pickup began on October 18th.
“There are parking bans in residential streets from 6:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., the same day as your street sweeping ban,” the Mayor explained. “Be aware of that through the rest of this month and through November.”
Nickels went on to say after you rake up the leaves, “You can leave those in the parking lane the evening before your day that it is supposed to be picked up…If you don’t have a parking lane, you can continue to put it in the terrace.”
No brush will be picked up and the leaf collection will continue thru November 18th but it may be extended, depending on the volume of leaves and weather conditions.
