Manitowoc Mayor Justin Nickels says that everything on mid-term election day went off without a hitch.
“We have about 80 poll workers that spend the entire day at the polls,” he said. “I just want to give them a huge thanks and shout out.”
Nickels praised their work, especially given the fact that there was a large voter turnout.
“We had a huge early voter turnout, which is good to see,” he said. “Our elections are very safe and secure, and every vote is counted accurately and appropriately because of your neighbors, your friends, your families who are the ones who are the poll workers ensuring the safe elections here in the City of Manitowoc.”
City Clerk Mackenzie Reed-Kadow says 70.6 percent of the city’s registered voters and slightly more than 49 percent of eligible voters cast a ballot on Tuesday.
