Two persons are in custody following a random K9 search for drugs conducted by Manitowoc Police at Lincoln High School Tuesday morning.
About 11:10 a.m. A K9 alerted its handler to one of the cars in the student parking lot.
The student who drove the car to school was summoned down to the parking lot to open the vehicle with a subsequent search uncovering illegal drugs inside.
During this time, a parent of the student arrived on scene creating a disturbance A facsimile firearm was discovered in that vehicle and both individuals were taken into custody.
Names of those involved have not been released as Lincoln High School and The Manitowoc Public School District say they will pursue and impose appropriate, disciplinary action as outlined in both district policies and the MPSD Code of Conduct.
School Administration personnel assisted police on scene.
No illegal drugs or substances were found inside the school. Police and The Manitowoc Public School District partner together for the purpose of providing these searches on school properties to support the training of K9 units and staff and to promote a safe learning environment for students and staff.
