Two Rivers Fire Chief Steve Denzien is leaving after four years of service to accept a similar position for the Town of Grand Chute.
During his tenure, Chief Denzien established the Manitowoc County Training Officers Association, was an active member of the community, and was past the president of The Two Rivers Rotary Club.
He also guided Two Rivers’s investment in new technologies and apparatus for both fire and emergency medical services.
Chief Denzien also established a paid-on-premise program and took a proactive stance in firefighter cancer prevention.
In a news release, City Manager Greg Buckley thanked Denzien for his service in leading the TRFD and being a positive and pro active member if the community.
The Two Rivers Police and Fire Commission will meet next week to name an interim leader and begin the search for a new chief.
Denzien’s last day of service will be January 13th.
